SpaceWiKi.com - 4 year old domain - $x,xxx.xx SOLD
SpaceWiki.com
Creation Date: 22-sep-2005
I originally picked up this domain with the intention of building a "wikipedia" style site monetized with "wiki-pages" for space related products with affiliate links to where these products can be bought (i.e. Space Suits which can sell for between $545 and $3,500) but never got around to developing it.
I use two affiliate programs - one that pays a 10% commission and one that pays an 8% affiliate commission to monetize other space related sites that I have.
My son-in-law used to own SpaceToys.com and sold it a year ago. Thus a significant part of my incentive to build space related sites and drive traffic to his sites (and help feed by grandchildren <grin>) has substantially diminished.
You can check out Space Suits and other space clothing such as space suits and helmets, space toys, replica models such as a replica of the lunar lander which sells for about $1,495 and other space related products at http://www.SpaceToys.com for examples of the variety of products that could be monetized on a Space Wiki site.
I still love the concept but do not have time to develop and monetize it.
A wikipedia is a collaboratively written community of information which means that other third-parties will continue to enhance and build content - thus if you build out SpaceWiki.com you can build a user community that will continue to develop and build content for you, further enhancing your ability to monetize it through quality information.
Halloween is also just around the corner, and the Apollo Flight Jackets and Flight Space Suits are one of the most popular Halloween costumes during that holiday season.
