have you had any success using ebay?

how do you handle the sales of domains like ww.com; escrow.com?

I don't know if people are using ebay successfully, except for very low value domains maybe.

I've had unsolicited offers for domains for a greater price than the max bid on ebay.

Things can get pretty active here, and many domains are sold within a thread.

anyone here know how much ESCROW.COM sold for ..... as it would give me a guide to how much to ask for ESCROWSAFE.COM

Yes i know its not in the same league as escrow.com.. but it should still be worth a bit ...???
any input would be helpful..........!!

I've never actually sold a domain on ebay before. In fact ww.com was the first domain that I ever sold. We are not using escrow.com but we are using an escrow account for it.

I've always used ebay for advertising. It's the best advertising you can get on the internet. It costs $3 or so to have an unlimited number of hits by people who are looking to buy exactly what you are selling. What could be better than that? :)

hi
thanx for that. you've got a great domain track record if you only sold one and that was for $70k.

Ebay is great for some things but not for high value domains in my experience.

I thought that perhaps you were regularly selling these kind of domains. If that were the case, I'd be surprised if you had found Ebay to be a successful way to sell them. So that's why I asked the question.

allied_web, do you really looking for 70k+ for ss.com because ww.com got 70k ?

The whois still shows us as the owner because the buyer had to transfer funds to an escrow agent. The escrow agent has the money now. There's some paperwork to be signed or something. I don't know exactly what. I've just been told that the deal has happened and I will be told when to transfer the name.

We are not "expecting" 70K for ss.com but we are "hoping" for it. I expect that 70k would take the name right now. Less would probrably take a few months with no better offers. I'm just the network administrator. I don't make the actual discissions.

While I do agree that ss.com does bring negative thoughts to mind, it really has so much more to offer so here's some suggestions:

Safe Sex (would be a great site for sex education)
Service Station (well that's what we call them in Australia)
Smart Store
Self Service or Self Serve
Secondary School
Security Service
Solar System
Space Shuttle
Special Service
Stainless Steel
Super Sonic
SweepStakes

Well, that's my brain exhausted for now on the SS front.

Good luck with your sale.

I'd say only a tiny minority will immediately give ss bad connotations.

I think ww is much more valuable because what other address can be so cool:
www.ww.com?
