Best is always relative.

Are you interested in the browser cert that is recognized by 100% of all browsers?

Do you want a wildcard cert so you can use it on all virtual nodes within your domain?

Are you interested in the cheapest?

Least expensive with 95% browser recognition? 98% 99%

Easiest to install? Fastest to purchase? Most secure?

It's a wild world in certificate land...

i didn't realize there was that much involved.....

I would want one that could be recognized by100% ofall browsers, but at the same time, the cheapest

Easy to install and very secure.

you can try www.thawte.com (raising prices in August)
you may also view www.geotrust.com web site (you can also search for their resellers that usually charge much less than list price on geotrust.com web site)

I believe that the GeoTrust QuickSSL cert is currently the best value for the money.

GeoTrust SSL is quite cheap but I remember that their SSLs are only supported by newer browsers. It may or may not be an issue, depending on your target customers.

You probably need to check their documentation before you purchase it.

Just to note, Geotrust QUICK SSL is only supported by newer browsers (Netscape 4.7+, IE 5+). The eBusiness ID is supported as much as Verisign/Thawte's. Some hosting services have trouble installing this though, and its more expensive.

Important note though, PM.
