most of .us subdomains are worthless

at least states.us.com would the better. But still, states.us.com is still worth $0

Look again, I know the extension sucks, but it probably gets some nice traffic. It's value would be based on the ppc revenue which I'm sure is much higher than $0.

Thanks for the appraisals.

I probably should have included this info.

The domain receives 12,000 typeins per month.

Errrr, hard to say. If that's true and if they're unique, high $xxx.

This subdomain may be worth a lot more. Set a wildcard DNS *.state.us.com and see how much traffic you get. Hmm...

impressive domain, I must say.

Would you care to share the revenue to us?

That would put it in the high x,xxx maybe low xx,xxx. I will add a word of caution most of the us states are steadily moving away from state.us to gov, org, info, com etc.

Oh, you should have told us the revenue earlier. So now probably high $x,xxx.

Based on revenue and catch-all use ALONE I'd put the value at low middish $xx,xxx USD.

HOWEVER, because it's only a sub-domain of .us.com, that drops the value of it, in my view, sharply to $xxxx (ie. ~ $5000 USD).

Much of the value of pure type-in domains is in development and future resale - but due to the uncertainty of .us.com domains, the bulk of the value is wiped out... CentralNics terms basically guarantee nothing; as most here already know, they are not ICANN accredited and .us.com isn't a recognized TLD.

http://www.centralnic.com/terms

In short, the domain is worth way more than $0, but not 6-figures ... more like around 4-figures, but this is only my opinion ... and if multiple motivated buyers get interested in the domain, the price could easily get into the 5-figure+ range.

why is it parked as state.us? if they bookmark the domain like that, the traffic will be lost.

Domainsponsor doesn't recognize subdomains, leaving the .com off at the end was a solution. Thanks for noticing my use of term. If a user bookmarks the site, the redirect would still be valid. I will lose traffic to anyone who recalls the address state.us from the ppc landing page, most of them will type in state.us.com when they see state.us doesn't resolve.

In checking things I do see I have not been capturing state.us.com/xxxxx, if anyone has insight how to fix this with enom forwarding it would be much appreciated. I guess that means my numbers are understated, it will be interesting to see how much more traffic there is. Thanks for the heads up indirectly.
