Hello,

When I heard a movie theater was coming to my city I immediately registered the domain "StatesvilleMovies.com". Our city is not large, but its not small either. The theater is a "Marquee Cinema" (A big upgrade from our last movie theater IMHO). It's huge, and looks really nice.

So the other day, I was at someons house. They said, hey go to StatesvilleMovies.com to check movie times. I was like....thats my domain!

I currently redirect to that days movie listings.

What is this worth. Thanks

well thats like totally cyberaquatting...

I always thought that was when, for example, you were becoming very popular, so I went out and registered namestrand.com, ns.com, namestrands.com, and namestranf.com etc.

If Duncan relized movies were becoming popular in his hometown, and didn't use the movie company's own name, then I see no problem.

If you are already getting type-ins for a movie site for a small town, then I say it has value.

I thought the name of the theatre was called statesvillemovie.... my bad..

still to me not worth a cent... I live in england and well not sure many people would be interested in statesville cinema times...

anyway... moving on very quickly... I am sure if you market it to your city then it would be of interest I guess to someone in your city...

Maybe even the theatre will want to grab it. They could choose to market their own name, or just spend a couple hundred for a name everyone already uses.

Well just my two cents. Why would they want to buy it if you are already giving them the traffic for free?

It appears that you registered it a godaddy, they have a website online builder program for like 3 bucks a month, start it up post the movies and their times in the center and line the rest with google ads and banners. If you are getting the hits you say you are then you should have no trouble making that money back and then some, but I just think if you give it to them then it isn't worth anything because they already have it for free.
