This domain was a TBR for our customer so we made a TBR booking at Sibername. We have the copy of the credit card receipt for the booking at Sibername. We have the original confirmation e-mail message from CIRA that this domain was successfully registered in the name of our customer.

Sibername at some point sold this domain to a third party and transferred it out of the account. At no time did we or our customer approve any transfer.

and... ?

I am assuming this happened 3 years ago...based on the whois.

So how can this have not been resolved?

If the story is how you said it was...it was theft.

I contacted Ed Toy and had him copied on the notice of intent that we wanted to file against Sibername, but CIRA came back and said it is up to the registrant to guard their passwords! With that, the lawyer said we should not bother for the costs involved.

Was it sibername? or possibly someone else who did it?

It was Sibername - Bulent claimed that the domains were sold to cover an "unpaid bill" for those domains. Not only were the domains paid, when he was confronted with the ZERO BALANCE web page from his own site, he deleted the ticket from the Sibername support system.

Obviously, under the Sibername TBR system Bulent has access to every RANT password from the moment one of his registrar accounts assigns the domain.

The message in which he states that he did the transfers is in my possession.

Was the name previously registered at Sibername before it dropped?

MSN,

I am really sorry but I do not believe this story.

Why are you raising this issue at the board three years later?

If CIRA did not buy your allegations, what exactly are you hoping will happen from making these unverifiable claims three years later on a public forum?

Why would sibername single you out among all their customers and they have many?

I have posted more comments here:

I am not picking a fight with you but I really do not believe these allegations you are raising nor the dark and negative energy you are spreading on these forums.

Sibername isn't to be trusted, it's that simple.

I've had 3 or so issues with them myself and each time it was to their advantage and my loss, with one issue being my security that gave them control of my rant which they created on my behalf

Hi Goff,

Please elaborate further about the issues you had. Did you acquire a domain via TBR? Did you pay in time? Did you get a merge request after that? Did you complete the merge? When did these problems you are alluding to take place? What did you do and how did you follow up?

Please explain. I am quite interested to hear what actually happened.

I've been dealing with sibername a very long time. If things were as bad as people say...i would have had at least one issue. I still keep an open mind...and i'm listening to what others have to say.

One time (that i am aware of) i won a domain in tbr. They created the rant then after a short time i was given control of it. Meanwhile when they created the rant they gave the rant CWA. CWA gives a registrar complete control of everthing in the rants account at the cira level. One domain in particular I let drop. The domain didnt go to tbr, it went into their house account. Now, I didnt want the domain, but this is one example of shady business practice. I have thousands of domains so I can only hope it hasnt happend to a more valuable domain.

I still use them but I have to keep on top of their actions at all times. I now hardcopy each transaction and keep those copies close at hand in order of month so I don't lose track. I also use a credit card with a light traffic to quickly identify any odd transactions. (they've charged me twice in the past).

Goff,

With all respect...You still use them so they can't be really that bad, at least according to you. If you know for sure that a wolf ate your sheep, then you don't keep feeding him sheeps.

The story you are telling us does not add up I am afraid. You won a domain in TBR. OK. They gave you control over it. OK. Did you complete the merge? If you did the registrant they created is cancelled by CIRA and no more exists so it becomes not possible for them to change ownership.

But you are not claiming that they changed ownership. You are stating that you let the domain drop, and so it again went to TBR. They are an active TBR player and so if they caught it again, it is perfectly normal. Please note that once a domain goes into TBR, the registrar cannot reclaim it except in TBR period.

It seems you misunderstood how the system worked and maybe confused that with your understanding of a .com domain dropping.

As for double charges...Accidental double charges occur all the time with all companies. Unless one can prove that this is a trend, I am afraid that this does not mean much assuming of course they reversed the double charge.

whatever bulent. I have no reason to make things up, and I do understand the system. I do use them still but with caution. I won't be giving specifics so that should make it easy for you to defend sibername.

When i let the domain drop I checked tbr and it never arrived. Is that so confusing ? It never did drop, it was renewed then transferred to a sibername account. No notice was given to me. This did bother me so i called mr.toy at cira, He then let me know they had cwa on the rant i had. Digging deeper i found they had cwa on other rants there as well. This happened in approximately 2006/2007.

I may or may not come back with more info. Take it or leave it. I'm not telling people not to use them, but to be very cautious with the specifics. Check your CC statements as well. Make sure that 1 or 2 hundred charge belongs there. Login to cira and check that no registrar has cwa on your rants.

most small business will take you for a little ride when given the opportunity, so they're no worse than others.

And just who exactly are you that you join and immediately start defending Sibername.

Can anyone say "SHILL" :-/
