I think if anyone had any doubt that .mobi is nothing but a well exceuted marketing strategy without a real product behind it, now it should be clear to everyone..this is almost like a product on the home shopping network now...you can get not one, but two pieces of crap for the incredibly low price of what we will make you believe is a good deal for nothing..

On a similar theme, i noticed today a LOT of TV ads for mobile broadband, i havnt seen these sort of ads until today on mainstream TV.Things are moving along nicely.We're still WAY behing China on tech though.

I still cant see the reasoning behing .mobi, since you can so easily redirect within any other extension to a subfolder of your site with a SIMPLE auto detect script to optimize the page from mobiles...

I have regged very FEW .mobis, but since it is the 12th today and I dont see any of this 1 year deals going on anywhere, it looks like it might happen whenever each registrar feels like it.

my ENom ETP account is showing $17

hmmm. that price is for 2 years, so I guess Enom hasnt gone to the 1 year deal.
if it is cut in half, then yes, Monikers price would be relatively expensive.

Even my GoDaddy reseller account is taking one year .mobi regs. I am not endorsing them or plugging them (ain't that a friggin shame?).

I think someone better rattle some phones at moniker.

And to all the naysayers out there...say nay. There's nothing wrong with having a divesified portfolio. Just like the stock market or your fund portfolio. You can't put all your eggs in one basket.
