I really wonder in this case if "Philippines" is stronger than "ThePhilippines"...

I understand your point of view, as the country is usually refered to as The Philipines.
However, the same can be said about The United States of America, The Virigin Islands, The...etc... there quite a few.

Yet, my opinion is that these domain names are worth more without the 'the'
