And yes there was a bit of panic buying as I only realised .mobis were going to be released a day or so before. I won't show you my others - then you'd really take the piss!

When looking at names for a .mobi extension (if you really want to get into that) remember that since this extension is relating and designed for a pocket sized mobile phone then try and keep the length of the domain to a minimum.

Typing Traintimetables.mobi on a phone keyboard would give most cellphone users karpal-tunnel syndrome!

When the .mobi extension came out my group just ignored it since we already have our .coms that already have a mobile website...for example...we have wap.giantweed.com which works just fine as a mobile website since it only works for internet enabled phones and it is more brandable as a .com than a .mobi in my opinion.

The bottomline is to make domain names designed for the mobile market to be short to reduce the number of keystrokes required.

The fact that .mobi has 4 keystrokes and .com has three keystrokes is already an issue for me.

It'll probably be the default on mobiles anyway so you won't have to type it. I f you invested millions in it, wouldn't you make sure this was the case?

If the many competetive cellphone companies and software developers can agree on a default one-button connection then great...we only have to look at the other domain names and current hardware to see that there is no default one button access on current devices...or is there? Would you like your computer or browser to assume on your defualt destination? Should my telephone assume the area code I want to dial?

Millions are regularly invested in losing propositions and such large monetary associations should not be considered a measure of potential success or worthiness...due diligence is always recommended whenever investing time or money.

Actually, my cheap samsung sprint phone assumes the area code. If I don't dial the area code, it will assume the area code of my cell number. I wouldn't be surprised if the big companies decide to make any defaults. They'd do it as long as there's money to be made.
