Unregistered .INFO .BIZ .US

The thread with unregistered .com .net and .org names is one of the most popular on the forum. A lot of people gather info from good sources like Exody to post those names. However Exody does not track the new extensions .INFO .BIZ and .US. I thought it would be interesting to start a thread for those extensions.

If you have come across a .INFO .BIZ or .US that you thought was at least mildly interesting but did not reg, post it here. If any one registers one from your list they are honor bound to send you $20 DN Bucks for the favor.

I will start by listing a few I considered but decided to pass on in favor of some other choices:

Remainders.Biz (remainders are surplus books - nice market for them. Over 1300 on Overture. Also available in .US)

FilmLand.biz (also .us - sell movies and memorabila)

FootballTeam.biz (all other extensions gone)

SportsTeam.biz and .info

Cheapskates.info and .us (good name for a discount seller or do the obvious and sell cheap skates.)


MrNet.us (you can be Mr. Internet - well the U.S. version anyhow!)

MisterAmerica.us (also available in .biz and .info)

DomainStar.us (that's you isn't it! Gone in all other extensions)

DirectMedia.us (gone in all other extensions. 414 in Overture)

BestCities.us (gone in all other extensions)

I have actually been keeping a long list of available new extension names that I revisit from time to time. That little notepad is such a temptation I decided to start putting some of the names out here - then hopefully there won't be so many around for me to register. One thing you will notice from Namepopper's list is that there are virtually no 3-letter .us domains left with really strong letters. People have quietly gone in and registered all of them. I know because I compiled every single one that was available and took the best that were left over the last month. There is virtually nothing left starting or ending with popular letters like A E C I S etc unless it is coupled with one or two q x y z etc.

If you were planning to eventually pick up a few good ones - the train has already left the station.

:laugh: Unfortunately I was a little late to the party too. Only got about a dozen. The pickings are surprisingly slim considering .US just came out in April. I think Bidawinner is right. A lot of people just keep quiet and gather the acorns or just bad mouth an extension to keep people away until they get what they want.

For those that hate the new extensions I am fully aware buying now could end up being a waste of money. But if you don't buy now and the extensions stick, you have missed your only opportunity to lock up names before they become valuable. Wish I had done it with .com around 1996-1997. So, check back with me in 5 years and I will let you know how it worked out!

About Spaceships.biz - that is tempting! If I knew I was going to live another 100 years I would take it. It could be like having Cars.com now!

I started this thread with the hope that I could remove some temptation from my life by getting a lot of these name ideas off my notebook and into someone else's domain portfolio.

I have never bought a .biz and didn't really intend to, especially since you cannot freely sell the names (for Newbies - you have to develop a site first and THEN you can sell a whole business).

Then you have to go and post SpaceShips.biz. I was headed to bed but that name kept sticking in my head. It IS a really cool name. Good Overture numbers and over a million Google entries. Then I realized people are just fascinated with this stuff and you could always sell models and Sci-Fi stuff until the real ones start rolling off the assembly line in Detroit!

Every other extension was taken - so it was this baby or keep rolling along in my 4-wheel jalopy!

So long story short, I have my first .BIZ and you have 50 DNB (I threw in a $30 bonus because I know this was a hard one for you to give up!)

But please...don't ever do that again...I'm broke!

I do think that's the problem. The .com .net and .org lists are out there for everyone to see anyhow, so people don't mind sharing them. There are a lot of good name still left in the new extensions so when people come across them they are reluctant to share because they often want to go back when finances allow and pick up some of those. I know I do it all the time myself (and still often find that names I bookmarked are gone by the time I get back).

Probably well worthwhile.

As i noted in some other threads, most of the good .US pure 3-letter domains are already gone. Still plenty with q, x y z etc. but you will be hard pressed to find one ending with A, C, E or S for example.

You're lucky Zoob, I had that one loaded in Enom and ready to push the register button! I already bought a couple of other 3-letter .US today (and two other domains) though so I decided to hold off and come back to it another day. I thought it might be gone. Those are some of the best Overture numbers I have seen on a 3-letter acronym that is not already widely known (like ABC or CBS for instance).
