Using words like "buy" or "shop" in domains names -- good idea?

Do words like “buy” or “shop” included in a domain name help drive good converting traffic for parking sites? For example: sportscarbuy.com. (somebody's taken that one, by the way)

Here are my Google results for a keyword I’m considering. The searches were done using quotation marks.

With the word “buy” at the end: Results 1 - 10 of about 20,200
<o> </o>
With the word “shop” at the end: Results 1 - 10 of about 44,400
<o> </o>

If I put "shop" at the front of one of my keywords, I get this result from a google search using quotation marks:

[SIZE=-1]Results 1 - 10 of about 12,300

Is that pretty decent? Would it be worth buying the domain and parking it?

'shop' should be at the end of the domain, like candyshop.com

unless its something like shopfordeals.com

'buy' should be in front, like buysunglasses.com

unless it's like goodbuy.com

does that make sense?

As the general consensus is, it all depends on how it's used.

UsedCarBuy.com is bad (IMO) but UsedCarBuys.com is fair and UsedCarStore.com is good.

BuyUsedCars.com is also good.

Think of how it would be said.

So do you type in say, "usedcars" if that is your own domain to do a search on yahoo/overture/google or do you type in "used cars" as a space in a search term will give different search result numbers when compared to the exact domain i.e. usedcars vs. used cars. which criteria do you use when getting the number of searches?

Sad to say then, i just bought a hypened dot com. Had a lot of google results though. :blush: Still haven't figured out how to develop it either.
