I thought I would see joecanadian.ca there ;)

Assuming that you were not supporting the extension I'm sure you aren't from canada.

So I don't know how you are able to own these.

Aside from that, Winnebago.ca is good.

Other than that regfee.

I would have no problem developing a .ca, but reseller value's are pretty low.

I have not seen an enthusiastic demand for .ca domains, although they are certainly
excellent keywords for intended content!

Therefore,lies the real value!

The fact that the ".com" version is owned by "E" or "BD" does not "automatically" add value to other extensions of the same name!

It's seems you have already conceived ideas for some of the names, which have commercial potential!

Hold them 3 yrs.

actually, I gave ele the lead on subsidiary.com

I think it was between 2-4k
I can't remember.

.ca is worth imho .5-5% of the .com

its not only "population" %'s

It's typein traffic.

sex.com 250k uniques per day

sex.ca how many typeins??

500? 1000?

Another important factor.

Also some people WILL ONLY buy the .com

therefore it makes the values so high..

All important factors..

Best of Luck with them.

Alexa means nothing.

Everyone knows that.

Only actual traffic stats matter.

the SITE google.ca is popular, does that mean the domain name google.ca is worth anything without google branding it?

NO.

I don't know why you are arguing with me.

The most important thing in domain values is TRAFFIC.

The .ca's you have will not produce any sort of traffic worth mentioning.

toronto.ca is one of the rare cases and I believe that is the highest .ca name with overture because it is very relative to the extension.

Lets just leave it at that.

.ca names are indeed worth .5-5% of the .com depending on traffic and such.

.com is global.

.ca is just for Canada.

If it went by population, then .cn would be worth a lot more than they are now...

You have sme decent .ca names. I would hold onto them for a while.

There are some that i see that should be definately easy to sell locally.

Thats funny, I was expecting to see joecanadian.ca too!

I don't mind .ca domains. I only have a couple, but might register more in the future.

Personally, I wouldn't register any of the names you listed. I dont' see much value in them.

I love it when members post names in the appraisal thread .. and then argue and preach about the ensuing posts. Too funny.

Funny, how you don't realize that ensuing posts are sometimes less about the names, and more about more other broader and/or important issues. What's wrong if the thread diverts, especially if it goes into more meaningful direction, then what your post seems to?

Agreed.

I had 6 2number.ca's that I sold for $50 each

2 number.com's are 20k

thats .0025 %

we are not talking about how many people use the internet in canada.

we are talking how many of those canadians know or have even heard of .ca, or would type it in.

When people sell traffic, its crap traffic.

Popups, etc.

Anyone who uses the internet knows .com

Think what you want, but the only .ca's I would want to own are owned by this guy.

Jordan...you are right...

I have developed two .ca domains and I love them, but there is no reseller market for .ca names.

You will be lucky to get reg fee back on those names, perhaps there is a reason why so many .ca's have not been reg'd?

You still havent explained how you managed to reg these since you need to be Canadian to get them...

But its a waste of money anyways...

A lot of the posturing about the relative value of a domain is all baloney. Even the traffic argument has holes in it. So, I'll repeat, (and I love repeating this ...)

The value of any domain is directly proportional to the amount a buyer is willing to pay for it at that point in time.

No more. No less.

There.

elusive_kudo: how the hell can you say that?

YOU ARE NOT CANADIAN!!!!

Yes, there are some .ca websites that are very popular, but in General, most Canadians do not use .ca or type it in at all. Infact, I dont think I have ever typed in a .ca name that I had never been to before.

You are not Canadian and you dont know what the hell you are talking about....Jordan, myself, Onspec and others know this first hand...stop kidding yourself, these names are worthless.....sorry
