Hi,

I recieved a decent offer (mid $x,xxx) for the domain name VOL.MOBI.

VOL in French means FLIGHT and the Overture for the French market was 521.982 in October (very high for the French market). Obviously it is also a 3 letter domain. I have seen the term Video On Line (VOL) as well.

So, I would like to know your opinion on the value of this domain and if you would take the offer.

Personally, I would want a bit more than mid $xxxx for that name.

How much would flights.mobi sell for?

When you check out French or Italian, search vs. results (Ovt vs. Google) generally the ratio is far more favourable than US or UK for the same terms - which should lead to more traffic through less competition.

If I had it, I would sell for upper $xxxx - but that's only because I could use the cash right now (balance out my spending spree's). I would probably regret it later.

Consider this, its only been 2-3 months and you are offered XXXX and thats because the buyers know its worth alot more and even more in the future.

You have a good name there and its not a random LLL either. KEEP it safe as its too early to sell........You will know when the time is right.... and thats when they'll start begging for it :smilewinkgrin:

Thanks everyone for your opinions. I am really not decided yet but more thinking about keeping it rather than selling it just right now. The .mobi makes me think of the beginning of the Internet, so we might be on the start of a new era for the Internet. And then having such names could be like having the same in .com 20 years ago.

I'd hold it for a few more weeks and see them increase the offer to at least low $xx,xxx then i'd sell. Dont let it go for less than $10,000, and don't listen to the mobi haters telling you it's just hype and to sell now! I think the big boys in HG3, Microsoft Ect Ect know what they are doing backing the .mobi and the mobi haters are just jealous that they missed the boat! It's a premium domain name and commands a premium price tag! Dont settle for anything less!
