Well i owned a domain www.zpills.com. It was backordered by me through pool on May. I listed it in the pools market place by paying 13 dollars 2 months ago. THey correctly charged my credit card and my domains are still not listed with them.

I complained them and sent them several mails regarding this., but there is no reply. I sent a mail to www.namescout.com and got a reply that its not their responsibility to show the domain.

Dont list any domains in their market place. They have the worst customer service i ever saw.

I think all the staffs are blind there. My money is illegally stolen by Pool.com

Darren, I too thought of that. But i backordered 3 domains from them, if i do a chargeback, iam afraid of my account being frozen :(.
I heard several complaints like this in all the domain forums against pool Its my mistake of not realising it and paying them the money and i repent now. :(

I have completely stopped using them.
Maybe I wasnt one of their greatest customers, but I have successfully acquired from pool over 70 domains.

I wouldnt be surprised If the people at pool sit around playing pool all day...

Yes I tried to list three names. the listing didnt go through and it was several weeks before they resolved the problem and that was only on two of them. I asked for a refund and they never came. I told them them I wanted all three problems fixed as I didnt want to slice up a smaller problem and wanted to keep it together. By the time they had the two names ready they had too many names to list. Now the marketplace seems dead. For the $24 i quit worrying about it, but I cant say im happy about just giving them money, they would never give me any. Their lack of desire to help me, refund my money, and poor attitude has given me a bad taste for them. When money comes before your clients, you will start losing at least one, much like one of the registrars of late.

Why don't all the people who have been screwed by them complain to the BBB about them..... if they did, with the amount of complaints they would get Pool would be in some deep shit!

Ditto, would never use Pool.com again. Perhaps Pool found that out as I never get their daily list anymore, which I deleted without review anyway but it is odd why it stopped coming. Anyone else have that happen, just curious?

I waste vast amounts of time every day trying to manage names they reg'd for me at their several 3rd rate crap registrars, some of which are expiring soon due to being unable to transfer away or manage.

I know the feeling! I actually handed that job over to our IT dept. for names I own as well as those we use for our business sites. It is a borderline joke the way these registrars run. No idea how they remain accredited!?
How the hell does rebel stay accredited? They have NO SITE! We called this past week and a lady answered "hello" and when Julian in the IT dept said "is this rebel" the lady said "hang on" asked someone else and came back and said "yes". WTF!!! These morons have won names for me!

Oh well we should definitely contact the AG if nothing else. The BBB will only be able to help if the company is a registered member o the BBB but they can impose no sanctions. They can simply lower their BBB rating which in many cases won't phase them anyway.
The AG can shut them down in a heartbeat. Almost happened to Dell years ago for not answering customer complaints.

If anyone gets anything together to move forward with this let me know. I don't have time to spearhead it but will climb on board.

Thanks

John

As surprising as the Pool schlock registrar domain mangement issues are is the fact these idiot firms somehow amazingly are competant enough to grab names on behalf of Pool.com. How in the world do they manage to be successful at it?

I sold a domain with through the Pool marketplace a month ago and still haven't seen a dime. It's enough trouble getting your domain listed and then to wait months to get paid it's no wonder they have less than 100 domains listed. I guess if they have a chargeback reported they will expect me to go through the whole process again.

It's all they know how to do. I too am absolutely convinced that someone, somewhere, talked these people into becoming registrars, and sold them a package of name grabbing software, and these people have absolutely no idea what a domain name is.

It is my understanding the pool 'uses' the connections to the registry that these companies have.
I would think their programs are encrypted, and that these registrars simply run them on their machines.

Is this thread about Pool being bad or the registrars that they use being horrible?

At any rate, I received excellent customer service from one of their registrars, DomainCA. These guys are in South Korea and they put many US based registrars to shame.

Very well could be so.

Hey everyone....
We can "B" and complain all we want....
Truth is that pool works !!!
It is all about money and registrars are signing on.....
WHY -- YOU ASK ---
MONEY.....
Registrars make much more grabing a name and shering with pool than registering a name....
In any event..... WHO CARES....
They catch names and auction them off

ALL LEGAL

P.S. no I don't work or endorse them..... just a biz point of view.

Thanks
Lorenzo

What do you guys like as an alternative to Pool that doesn't charge upfront to backorder? Unless I'm incompetent, I can't reserve domains way ahead of time on NameWinner, only just before there ready to drop. Am I missing something?
