We are getting ready to do something with this domain name as WEBMASTER.US. I would appreciate your thoughts on this one prior to letting our development folks start on a new site. Thanks - Steve

Great domain Steve :)

The domain screams to be developed as a webmaster resource (forums/affiliates/etc) site.

Best of luck!

Great ".US" domain, Steve ... congratulations! You didn't actually want appraisal amounts ($$), did you? :D
Good Luck.

Hello Cool Host - Well I really wanted to be able to offer this domain for sale - but they seem to want to brand this one all the way so I guess the appraisal would only be worth something to me. So sure throw out a number please - .US domains are a little tough to put a price on - What do you think? Thanks Steve

I'll appraise it, then, at $1,000 ... as that's what Yakov appeared to have offered (above). I know, I took the easy way out on this one. :D
See 'ya.

I think CPi paid a good bit more than the reg fee. As I recall the sale of this domain was reported several months ago. I thought the buyer got a great deal on it at that time (didn't know it was CPi). Definitely a great name. Don't know that I would want to let it go either.

One thing to add Steve. I would actually sell this name. Not right now, but when the market rebounds... Why??

Because as the internet evolves so to will certain "job descriptions". I honestly believe that in less than 5 years people who develop and design "websites" will no longer consider themselves "Webmasters". As technology advances so to will our terminology. It's what I call the "8 track tape" phenomena.

Definitely build the site, but I would move on it as soon as the market rebounds.

Good luck!

this could happen

certainly the internet will evolve but i think that the word 'web' will still be relevant and the term 'webmaster'

though 5 years in domain reselling time is a lifetime - anything could happen :)

I put less than "5 years" out there as that is how fast technology is "turning over" certain markets. So this "development" could happen much sooner as probably will be the case.

My gut instinct is that we won't be calling them websites. That is a very static, dated term to describe a page on the internet.

THINK dYnAmIc! ;)

izopod quote for the day: Technology not only creates efficiences in the marketplace, it creates new terminology.
