I would like to see more buyers instead of sellers.
So that when we sell a domain, its not to other speculators.
Who want to pay bottom dollar for a domain, rather then reasoning a fair amount.

Its hard to do much about that as domain supply seems to far exceed demand, at the bottom end anyhow. Buyers who are willing to pay big dollars probably have a very specific name in mind so using forums/sales sites probably isn't much use to them either.

I agree. Buyers know exactly what they want. It's the resellers who don't.

So?
I still stand by my opinion. Improbable or not.

Retail buyers will never come in here, and if they just happened to they would only get to educated and finish up in this biz.

So my opinion .. Improbable

Even other speculators wont buy names unless they are top shelf and then only for peanuts.

I agree. Improbable.

The big money buyers will just type in your URL and see what's on the other side.

Your homepage is the best point of connecting if you want to make that type of sale.

The smaller buyers who do it for just a hobby may be interested in forums like this - there are some people out there who collect domains like they collect stamps. These are the under 2k buyers, with most looking for a steal at under $100.

I'd be interested in figuring out how to draw the "regular" users here instead of simply domain speculators.

There should be a way to do this...

Sorry! I won't tell nobody that you have moved your names to my backyard! My backyard location changess when I relocate my cardboardbox, so they would be safer.

Thewitt,

I dont think that there is a formula that attracts regular users to a forum site.

Word of mouth is probably the best way and that only attracts domain speculators.

Better search engine listings may help i dunno but to achieve rank some one has to pay for position.

The rush of new members has slowed down in here lately, so most of the ex - afternic people who wanted to join have probably done so.

Where to get more members is problematical, most likely go and post this site up on other boards.

Good idea, we should go and advetize this site on other domain forums in order to boost poularity. Maybe that would get more buyers instead of sellers.
