DCG,

i have IDNs of .tv, .de, .cc also

there are several more listed on http://www.idotz.net/idn/ with some restrictions per cctld

But thats not true of all countries. European countries seem to have more extensions, and I am sure all will be adding as it goes along. Currently I believe that the majors have the following.
China is .cn, .com, .net
Japan .jp, .com, .net and .tv
Russia. .ru (open to Russian citizens), .com, .net

Please correct me if this is not right.

no IDN in .ru

.gr (Greece)

Nameplaces, highly popular keywords and highly "offensive terms reserved by the registry. (Which should make their .com counterparts very valuable, eventually...me thinks)

hmm? There are a few russian idn .ru's but IDN .ru registrations are currently prohibited. Ask on IDNF

I know that we can't register them, but was just saying that .ru is a live extension being used by some companies in Russia. Maybe to get that designation you have to be some type of "official" government sponsored sites. Information anyone??
