What does CVCV mean ?

I'm a newbie to the world of domains and I was wondering what CVCV means ?

I know in LLLL each L stands for a letter...but I cant figure out what C and V stand for.

Also VCVC is the opposite. Vowel Consonant Vowel Consonant. Like ebay is a VCVC.
