I can't wait for CIRA to streamline the transfer process. Been waiting for 10 years.

By next summer, CIRA will be on an EPP system.

I attended a meeting with CIRA president and that's what was discussed.

On a seperate note, dopes anyone know how to fix the tech contact on a registrant profile with or without jumping through hoops.

One of my profiles is wrong and I need to fix it.

Indeed... and all the registrars (such as ourselves) are working on implementing this on our end. Should make life a little easier... particularly for all the people who have lost access to their admin email account (you have no idea how often this happens) but somehow manage to hang on to the EPP code.

Some registrars have absolutely horrible interfaces that don't allow you to properly manage contacts the way CIRA intended. Granted CIRA's method is a bit convoluted to begin with... so the issue is a bit complicated.

Ultimately the best way is to have your registrar log into the CIRA web interface directly and make sure everything is fine there. We generally take care of this when our clients open a support ticket... i'm sure an email (or phone call) to your registrar may yield similar results.

Solve one problem and create two new ones.

As I recall, the UK system run by Nominet would send paper codes to activate accounts and that ensured no more fake registrant/fake address issues.

If CIRA does an electronic code system, then watch out: anyone would be able to register domains under any other name or e-mail address and play games like putting domains in the names of other people without their knowledge.

Oh wait, that already happens now.
