That's REALLY hard to choose. I remember watching Don McLean's American Pie's "MTV" (they didn't actually have music video back then, just some live clips) before my favorite show - Sesame Street - during the summer of '73. That is the first "hit" song I know by heart (my local TV station played it like every other day).

tough question

Elton John's "Funeral for a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding" from "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" would be a good start. I may have more...

Oh Lord, won’t you buy me a Mercedes Benz ?
My friends all drive Porsches, I must make amends.
Worked hard all my lifetime, no help from my friends,
So Lord, won’t you buy me a Mercedes Benz ?

Oh Lord, won’t you buy me a color TV ?
Dialing For Dollars is trying to find me.
I wait for delivery each day until three,
So oh Lord, won’t you buy me a color TV ?

Oh Lord, won’t you buy me a night on the town ?
I’m counting on you, Lord, please don’t let me down.
Prove that you love me and buy the next round,
Oh Lord, won’t you buy me a night on the town ?

Everybody!
Oh Lord, won’t you buy me a Mercedes Benz ?
My friends all drive Porsches, I must make amends,
Worked hard all my lifetime, no help from my friends,
So oh Lord, won’t you buy me a Mercedes Benz ?

That’s it!

No doubt these are the greatest slow songs of all times:

- " Purple Rain " by Prince
- " Just wanting you " by Jesse Johnson
- " If i can dream " by Elvis Presley
- " Love is like a newborn child " by Randy Crawford
- " A womans work " by Kate Bush
- " No matter how high i get " by Bobby Womack & The Crusaders
- " As we lay " by Kelly Price
- " Cherries in the snow " by Madam X
- " Sometimes it snows in April " by Prince
- " She's out of my life " by Michael Jackson
- " What kind of fool " by Barbara Streisand & The Bee Gees
- " Nothing compares to you " by The Family
- " Can you see the rain " by New Edition
- " I miss you " by Aaron Hall
- " Deep river woman " by The Commodores
- " Sail on " by The Commodores
- " Hard Woman " by Mick Jagger
- " What love can be " by Kingdome Come
- " Untitled (How does it feel) " by D'Angelo
- " Just because " by Ray Charles

If those songs don't make you shiver instantly, you're already dead. :)
