Of course there is no need to answer any questions at the forum even if the reply is helpful, educational and general in nature, nevertheless since the name is sold what is the risk or downside to you in at a minimum saying what category it was in? Just wondering about it?

LOL :)

I'm going after more names in the category so no need to give myself more competition, there is enough allready.

I'm sure you can appreciate that.

My best averages $6.22 a day $186 per month. What would be a sensible price for such a domain - 3 years income?

3 years is a long time and I would never pay that unless it was a very common, generic, no tradmark problems, non-typo domain.

Between 12 and 18 months seems fair (unless you were willing to guarantee earnings) for most domains...12 months being norm,

Topnames, it fits your first sentance. Common, generic, no trademark issues, it's no typo and it is a .com

The domain is PokerUK.com

Such knowledge is though of no real use to you. It's well known that Poker has been hot for a couple of years now, and I acquired over 100 of the best gambling/poker names back in the good old days when Snapnames actually caught names and only charged $60! The only trick was getting into the snap queue long enough out to beat everyone else. I had programs that looked 4 months out (i.e beyond the 90 days to expiry that most programs show) and was thus able to que jump wait and hope. I'd get perhaps 1 in 3 or 4. That's how I acquired:

Texashold-empoker.com
PokerUK.com
SevenCardPoker.com
Onlineflight.com
MotorCarRacing.com

to name a few.

The system doesn't work like that now - all names are auctioned so in the rare instances such names drop they will go for market price (i.e lots). Of the 100 poker related domains I have only 5 that generate PPC revenue, but those 5 make $450 a month. It's not even worth trawling sedo and other resellers (I already have) because half decent poker names without exception sell for very high prices (the sellers ask high prices - don't know how many actually sell).

Most people buy such names not with PPC in mind but in the hope they can replicate my site and get top 10 on Yahoo.com, MSN.com and Google.com (I think I'm 8th,7th and 40th(ish) respectively as of now) out of min 750,000 competing sites. To do that you have to have a decent name and a whole lot more.

I agree with most of what you said here. I also have almost 340 casino/poker domains. Mainly casino and about 50 of them are poker domains.

The great thing about these names is one click equals almost 5 bucks so very few clicks a day still help you pay off you renewal fees.

I also own many good ones including www.IndiaPoker.com , www.GreatGambler.com , www.PokerOlympic.com , www.FederalPoker.com , www.PentagonPoker.com , www.BombayPoker.com etc.

By the way, the reason poker/casino domains sell for very high is because of the very high ppc rates for these domains.
