OK, here's a question:

DotMobi will be the first extension with limitations and restrictions on it's uses. This is from the dotMobi Protocol document:

Take into account the trade-off between having too many links on a page and asking the user to follow too many links to reach what they are looking for.

Consider this statement and what it means for advertising revenue opportunities. The reduction of ad revenue opportunities alone should reduce the value of .mobi's in general.

So my question is: Why would I pay more for a .mobi extension than for say a .org, .info or .tv extension. I am actually getting less for my money. With these other extensions I can do anything dotmobi can do, without restrictions and limitations. Nothing is keeping me from making a .org mobile compatible. I already have to get the customer to remember my name plus a non-dotcom extension. Why does it matter what the extension is that I have to get them to remember?

IMHO, i think that .mobi is related to mobile phones. .org is related to organization. of course .com is the best, but all of those names are gone. All other extensions deal with PC and .mobi is for mobile. Hopefully this would help develop the mobile industry much faster. If someone says ".com, .org, etc", i think PC.
If someone says ".mobi", i know its for the mobile phone.

I will be very interested to see how much mobi discussion is going on in 12 months. For such a long time the dotmobi shopping mall will be either empty or boring. Hard to imagine one will have much fun "surfing" the dotmobi internet over the next 5 years.

I would like to compare the average age and experience of the dotmobi fan club to that of the dotmobi cynics.

I'm in no hurry to sell.. Doublecheeseburger.mobi goes to my son, doublecheeseburgers.mobi to my grandson... They're all set for life, one day they'll find this thread and realize the power of .mobi and how wisely I invested..

Royalewithcheese.mobi. That's what they call a quarter pounder with cheese in Paris! (Get it Jules?)

Burritos.mobi is still available in several languages.

How do you guys feel about icheesburgers.mobi or echeeseburgers.mobi? Will a dash (cheese-burgers.mobi) hurt the value? Maybe $XXX if developed?

I've been hurt by domain expectations for the past 8 years since I started in January 1999. I have been a domainer preacher only to here the words again and again "where is the money, then?"

Perhaps a little ahead of the mainstream times, I feel patiently perservearing I am witnessing is finally manifesting..

My dream of living online lifestyle is manifesting itself I am believing,.. I have not been as successful as many of you on this forum..

'Cos for a very limited time, they were available....

'Cos out of well over a hundred .mobis I've bought, with the exception of about 5 personal interest names - all other major ext have been taken, including my foreign language ones....

'Cos for a new extension, it's hit the ground running like no other, in terms of the secondary market....

'Cos we wanna get loaded, and we wanna have a good time.....
