Which Extension Do You Prefer If The .com Is Unavailable?

This is a big question that troubles many others.
What if you are looking for a domain name and you find out that the .COM is already taken while all others are still available?
Which extension do you go for next - .NET, .ORG, .CO, your country-code TLD or some other option and why??

That all depends on the domain and the intended use. .net and .org are my main go-to's but sometimes .us isn't bad either.

to op: i'd take .co out of that list -loser extension. if you can't get the com then net, org and cctld should be looked at i agree.
or think of another domain before starting new project --one which is available in .com like they said.
