There was a point when a domain didn't have whois privacy so it may be archived, such as by "who.is".
and to remove it we have to pay $30 :?:
$1 / $5 for each domain could be fine. But $30 for each domain? that makes me mad :undecided:

example :
Code:

Proof that extortion can be a business almost like any other.

agree, but would you also say the same about reputation repair sites? they charge far more.

That's one of Adam Dicker's niches you're talking about there... ;)

I believe they target the offending posts/sites and either aim to get them removed and/or inundate those sites/similar keyword areas of concern, with positive info to dilute the bad messages and keep it from being highly ranked. Not sure though jut what I had heard.

I sent a few e-mails back and forth about this a year ago, suggesting that they remove whois history because it renders my newly purchased domain privacys useless. I was pleasantly surprised that they took the time to respond to each one of my concerns and were interested in getting more feedback so they could improve their website further. I'm not bothered anymore about the whole whois history thing.. I do business with people I like, and them, I do like :)
