I got it during the initial stages (sunrise) and now it is in auction. I am just wondering if it is worth pursuing.

it's short, and pretty brandable. not sure what type of site would go there.. perhaps a journal type site or something.

it probably comes down to how much you really must have that domain ;)

Were I GoDaddy, I might look at that name as a great platform for selling .me TLD names.

Why.Me? All the appropriate registrar marketer's answers to why register a .me name...

They could even have a tag line:
Why.Me? Because its cheap and obvious and you can't get Why.Not (at least not yet).

As a special added bonus, when you type in a domain as a question on the browser's address bar, (e.g., Why.Me?) it still gets you to a site (because ? is a separator in a URL) - which is kind of a cool marketing ploy I have in mind for another name or two.

I personally wouldnt invest more then a few hundred dollars on this, but if you have ideas for development, then you should consider what kind of return you will see on that project. Will you see your initial investment? In all honesty, I dont see very many possibilities for this one, but if you can find a nice nitche; and the name truely sparks your interest, then go for it.

I agree, yes it sounds cool and what not, but its a complete novelty domain. I'm getting tired with people buying these sorts of domains when there will rarely be any development value in them.

Interesting comment, I doubt even 5% (I am sure I will corrected) of domain names are bought for development purposes- the majority are just bought and sold by resellers and hoping that occasionally the buyer turns out to be an end user with the big bucks.

Why.me - quite a good name and probably worth what the winning bidder considers it to be less 40% (the "I must win MY auction factor")

Personally I see quite a good future for .me , way ahead of the .ws, .mobi, .asia, .pro options.

I think this tld rocks and has real potential. Even if the country behind it ever dissolved or changed its name, I believe it would probably be picked up as a gtld because of how appealing it is. I think it's a winner.
