Though Namewinner seems to get more publicity of late SnapNames continues to kick butt for me. Several Snaps in a row were grabbed by them for me and I am very happy with them. It seems they are doing better than ever now.

I would be interested to hear why so many members go with Namewinner over Snap when it seems Snaps are low priced (and quite successful, at least for me) vs the active bid names at Namewinner.

I think it's luck o' the draw. I got 2 NW yesterday @ $25 and $42. They both had snaps on them. The day before I got a snapnames that had a NW of $135.

If you really want it, hedge your bet and go both ways. With each computer trying only milliseconds apart, it's really just a game of chance.

Yes if You have snap and You also are the highest bidder in namewinner, then I would say that You get this name I would say %90 - %95:)
If buydomains or ultsearch don`t beat You or some private club :( But in this moment they are not so good, so I would say %10 change

because at $69 a pop, it gets expensive for mediocre names.

plus the $69 has no guarantee! basically like a 'call option' but without the option.

i had a snap that lost out to a nw bid yesterday that was a lot less than the 69 bucks i paid for the snap

...because only one person can purchase a SnapBack for a particular domain name with SnapNames while anyone can bid on a particular domain name with NameWinner, and there's always that chance that NameWinner will beat SnapNames, which it did for me today, plus $69 is not worth it for a domain name that only you might have a use for but want to register right when it drops. If the domain name is dropping from Network Solutions, you might have a better chance with SnapNames; I don't know.

I wish that was the case, but ever since drops restarted and Namewinner seemingly improved, Snapnames has missed every single name I had snaps on (9 in total) all from Network Solutions. Bastards

I think someone else may come out with a great techniques of snapping names soon that will beat SnapNames and all other players at once. =)

I just got a namewinner name for $8.75 that I wouln't pay the $49-69 snapnames requires. Although, you can re-use some snap subscriptions IF you later need another name.

I have a fishy feeling Snaps is degrading fast. I went in my CP recently to do an exchange and the list of prefered registrars has shrunk. Netsol is no longer in the picture, and with BulkRegister you need an ID to proceed?

I bet Snaps management knows more than they are saying. WLS, here we come.

I hope not, I have 8 exchangable snapbacks still active. With 10 months left on each.

I use both...

I had a snap on MuscleCarWorld.com ($49)
but my $8.75 bid on NameWinner caught the name.

Yes, I welcome WLS to level the playing field as right now buydomains and ultsearch seem to grab most of the good ones and I doubt they will even participate in WLS.

Snap is working great for me, several very good snaps in a row, The last 2 in particular were really good, one seems to be getting about 40 type-ins a day. The other Snap gets a few type-ins/day and has amazing potential.

BTW Mole, what about that negative news regarding Overture and the suggestion tool results you spoke of in another thread? You did not want to comment on it for fear of a lawsuits against you from what I recall you implying. You said watch the newswires for the news but never saw anything on it.
