Why would I get a call from Aplus.Net?

Just got a call from the sales department of Aplus.Net, saying something like "just saw (my) registration of a new domain name and have a couple of questions for you". So people actually start spamming with voicemail?

It's a practice that has been used for some time by several hosting companies. Telemarketing can be lucrative in any business if done right.
