Hi all,

I've got the following two domain names which I use actively for email.

They are :-

. with.us
. entertain.us

I tend to read them as "WITH US" rather than "WITH dot U S"

If you go to www.with.us you can see the approach I've taken. Essentially I've got links which make use of the subdomains like :-

. Travel.with.us (TRAVEL WITH US)
. spend.with.us
. shop.with.us
. save.with.us
. redirect.with.us (A working redirection site)

Sites such as garden.with.us are currently being developed. The potential here, I believe, is in a portal which makes good use of the sub-domains. Due to current traffic volumes I'm developing all the sub-domains, of which there are about 60 in total I've got sample sites for, into affiliate style sites. Current affiliate registered and being developed are ;-

. Travel.with.us (Expedia)
. Talk.with.us (Carphone warehouse)
. Search.with.us (Works currently but makes use of Amazon banners.)
. Garden.with.us (B & Q)
. Spend.with.us (American Experss)
. Shop.with.us (Amazon)
. Entertain.us (Amazon)
. email.with.us (Hotmail)
. Win.with.us (Loquax)
. Diet.with.us (Weightwatchers)

I like With better than Entertain for this approach. What kind of traffic volumes are you getting?

Without any promotion I'm getting about 50->80 hits per day. I've found that when I'm using a specific name like garden.with.us for site development the testgroup feedback I get is great about the name and it's 'cool' factor.

I know one thing, I've never had anyone forget the name and it always get a bit of a buzz when I tell them my contact address is [email protected] or any of the other 'obvious' email address/site addresses.

What do you think of the template designs associated with the various domains?

Also, thanks for letting me know about the plain old http://with.us URL wasn't working. I recently rebuilt my server and left off that part of the config. I'll no doubt have been missing some hits on that one.

I agree that "with.us" has a lot of potential. It could be $X,XXX or even more for the right buyer. It's a lot like "about.com" in its broad appeal.

You may want to focus on the "community" aspect - the idea of people doing things together.

I know that the name screams community which is why at the heart of all of the websites I'm creating http://chat.with.us which will be a phpbb based forum system.

The system 'under the hood' in a centralized membership engine that I've created. This is currently being used to best effect at http://learn.with.us which is a directory style learning resource database. It's locked just now while development is finishing off.

Would add that it doesn't have to be either/or; dual sense of ".US" and "with us" can and should work perfectly. Community aspect is great.

Community/team feel is brilliant and would pay high $x,xxx if I had the cash - it's worth it.
