Note to the Admins: I`m sorry , I don`t have an idea where to write this topic since my aim is to discuss how domains are appraised so I thought this section was the most appropriate. Please , if I`m wrong...accept my apologies.

-----------------------------

How a domain is appraised? What do we look in the first istance? The catchy name? The extension? The lenght ? The links ? The Pagerank ? The Overture ? WHAT ?

It`s an evolving and booming industry where everything can happen and if one month we think that hypenated names worth zero, than the month after we realize how wrong we were.
3 letters .anything are dissapearing........I wonder how long the 4 letters .com will last ?

Sometimes I read the sales on Afternic, on Sedo , then I look my portfolio of names and I think : what`s wrong with my names ?

Where a newbie should start?

Ok, we all missed sex.com, but now, April 2006 what can we do: what do you look at? Is Overture results the first thing you look at ?

Come on, people share your opinions and help some newbies to move the first steps in this wild market.

Cheers

You might consider IDNs, before it's too late.

You may want to search both on this forum and on the web; there's lots of info there. Here's a recent/intro thread to get you started:

Hi , yes I do consider them, but can`t find anything there as well.
Plus, I think it`s the same for IDN names.....do you value a domain only for its name? I don`t think so...
