Hi,

www.Match.us

Any comments on the value or otherwise on this domain ONLY.

We have developed this domain already as one of the sites for our 120 sites dating network called www.MatchPedia.com , but I just want to get sense of the value of this one as some party is repeatedly asking us to sell it to them.

We don't want to sell it that cheap and looking for real good money for it for 3 reasons:

1. We already invested good money in domain when we bought it about 1.5 years ago from a reseller.

2. As the party only wants domain, so we have to waste our investment in site.

3. Of course I love the domain and its potential.

Any input on value is appreciated. Please post your comments.

Thanks,

seeker

I think you're going to run into problems with that one with the Match.com owners.

No problems at all whatsoever.

Already have the legal opinion on the domain/site.

No one can trademark a generic dictionary word or generic term.

Match.com owns the trademark on the "DRAWING" of their old logo ONLY.

We are not using exactly that logo as they trademarked in that drawing.

On top of that, date.com is owned by a separate company and most other 'date' extensions and sites are owned by other companies (for example Date.ca dating site is owned by AmericanSingles.com). So when it comes to generic words/terms/phrases....no one can trademark them....but you can trademark your logo/drawing etc.

PS: Thanks "ALL" for your comments! Appreciate it very much!!!

Regards,

There should be no problems at all. If all other owners of the other extensions chose to use match.??/???/????, Match.com would blow their brains out trying to get the domains transferred, shut down the competitive sites via UDRP the courts or any other means.

Good luck with the sale.

Guesstimate domain at +/- $7,500

You can run into problems with match.com because if they decide to go after you, they will irrespective of whether they r right or wrong. I have also said this before on your llc names as well.

But hey no risk = no gain. Nice name good luck!

they have gone after people before on random names with just match in them, but they did lose.

names like:
matchclothes.com (not actual name, but that sort of thing)

This name has value to them and they would have a case against you.
