Hello all .


Web site designer here of 5 years looking to get into domain trading, etc.

The design industry is shot due to outsourcing so I figured Id get into domain names.

Just not sure what my options are, I know I can buy catchy domain names
that expire and then resell them hoping they have value.

I also know I can be an affiliate for a registar but what else it there, i know theres alot just not sure what.

also what does it take to be your own register or own domain business?

in simple words....wheres the money at????

Just not sure what my options are, I know I can buy catchy domain names
that expire and then resell them hoping they have value.
"Catchy" names usually have little value unless developed into a site that has traffic. Ahh Traffic. That's the key. But to catch a dropping name that had traffic before it expired takes one thing....$$$$. With all of the major drop catchers using the catch/auction system, any name worth its spit is going for lots of money

The money is in drop catching. Get yourself about 20 registrars as partners and go nuts arty:

Here's hoping you have lots of money! :cheesy: If not, my advice is, take it slow, learn on domain forums, develop any names you buy into sites that attract visitors and earn money.
