Christmas Island Internet Administration does not administer, regulate or intervene in the secondary market. Since it is not possible to "own" a domain name it is technically impossible to "sell" a domain name. A registrant can only sell / auction the right to "use" a domain - and is free to so for whatever price the market will bear. Christmas Island Internet Administration receives no revenue from transactions on the secondary market. All registrations or renewals attract the same fees, and there are no fees for changing the listed registrant.
Use of a .CX domain is always subject to compliance with applicable policy. A person who acquires the right to use a .CX domain in the secondary market must agree to be bound by the .CX Registrant Agreement[8] and all applicable policy in order to be entitled to become the listed registrant and use the domain.
