The Africa Internet Summit 2026 will take place from 22-26 June 2026 in Nairobi, Kenya, at the Emara Ole Sereni.

AIS’26 is one of Africa’s most important Internet infrastructure and Internet governance gatherings. The summit brings together network engineers, policymakers, regulators, academics, technical experts, Internet organisations, industry leaders and digital infrastructure professionals for a week of practical learning, policy discussion, technical collaboration and community building.

The 2026 edition is jointly organised by AFRINIC and AfNOG, on behalf of the Af* community, and is hosted in Kenya by TESPOK.

About Africa Internet Summit

The Africa Internet Summit is an annual regional multistakeholder ICT and Internet industry conference. It was launched in The Gambia in 2012 and has grown into one of the continent’s key platforms for Internet development, capacity building, technical training and policy exchange.

The event typically includes seminars, workshops, tutorials, conference sessions, birds-of-a-feather sessions and other forums where Internet professionals can exchange knowledge and strengthen Africa’s Internet ecosystem.

Why this event matters to the domain industry

Although AIS is broader than a domain-only conference, it is highly relevant to the domain name industry because it sits at the centre of Africa’s Internet infrastructure discussions.

For domain registries, registrars, DNS operators, hosting companies, ISPs, cybersecurity professionals, policy experts and Internet governance stakeholders, AIS’26 offers a valuable view of the technical, regulatory and operational issues shaping the future of the African Internet.

The summit is especially relevant for those following:

  • African Internet infrastructure development
  • DNS operations and Internet resilience
  • ccTLD and registry ecosystem development
  • Cybersecurity and online trust
  • Internet governance and public policy
  • Regional interconnection and network operations
  • Capacity building for technical communities
  • Digital inclusion and Africa’s digital economy

Theme for 2026

The theme for AIS’26 is:

A Resilient Internet Ecosystem for an Innovative Digital Africa

This reflects the summit’s focus on strengthening the foundations of Africa’s Internet while supporting innovation, inclusion, security and sustainable digital growth across the continent.

Venue

AIS’26 will be held at Emara Ole Sereni in Nairobi.

The venue is expected to host the main summit sessions and provide facilities for plenary sessions, workshops, parallel discussions and hybrid participation. Accommodation is available on-site at Emara Ole Sereni and Ole Sereni, with additional hotel options expected nearby.
