I use 1&1, it's a great company. I would highly recommend them.

Avoid them like the plague...
My 02 cents.

OK, now you want to add 2 more cents and tell us why to avoid them?

Many different motives behind members saying they don't like whatever.

Never tried to transfer out a domain there ?
Very instructive... 1 of the worst registrars I have ever seen.

I am sure I am not the only one with this kind of feeling.

Their service is not bad at all but their support is sucky these days.

Well thank you for your answers, it would be great if they would create an API !
Anyway, regarding to the replys, it's a great deal but i shouldn't think about tranferring domains outta there !

Un peu comme lycos webcenter ? ;)

1&1 makes it very difficult to cancel contracts (especially where domains are tied to hosting, something which is a big NO-NO that I have learnt thanks to my 1&1 experience). They are also devious and dishonest (e.g. their promotions may say that you will get 1 domain free, but when you contact them to take up their offer they will claim that that only applied to a .info or a .biz domain). Finally, their support is awful: E-mail replies are slow and perfunctory, if you call them you either get minimum-wage folks who know very little and if you ask for a supervisor, you are likely to get an arrogant, Brit guy who could not care less.

Summary, avoid them!
