sjp, lhague spent some time and thought into giving you what I thought was an excellent answer (though he probably confused you as some went over your head). You skipped right past hia post. I'd advise you to answer his question. Sounds like you may have just the name registered with eNom, no other host, and you either need to or want to link to the affiliate with a banner on your site, not with a redirect to their site or to a site they affiliate provides for you?

I like the site bidawinner gave me and I am going to try that program...

You know how enom has the box to type your words into... You can not place HTML in there..

I like enom, Because it is easy,,, However I wanted to find something that was like enom, but allowed to type in html..

I think I am making this harder than it is.. But I really want to learn this..

Did I confuse you??

lhague

Thank you for the long post.. I am going to have those answers for you tomorrow..

Thank you

You can edit your templates for free in notepad, you dont need to buy that program... That program will limit you, and create default pages that may not look so nice.

Honestly, what you need is to learn HTML... It ain't hard, and quite frankly, all these posts will do is confuse you.

I appreciate all the answers and so Far, Doberry has the right place... No exactly but it will do..

I am going to give you the status of where I am at now..

1. I found a template... Nice template

2. I downloaded it to my desktop (zip file on window XP)

3. I found the index.html and clicked on it.

4. When the site showed up, I right clicked

5. I then chose "view Source"

6. I went into the HTML and put all my info on there..

7. I saved it.

8. I checked it and it is how I set it up.

9. There is sits..............

I dont know how to upload it.. I am using Netfirms for the free hosting, Until I figure this out...

I went to netfirms and I dont see anyway to upload my site, Then I was going to point my domain there.. Right?

I am lost on the uploading now.. I dont know how to upload to netfirms.. If I have to, I will go sign up for another free host until if I have to...

Now I have a few sites hosted throuhg.....cmmhosting.com and economyhosting.com, However I dont know if I can use them, since I have other sites on there....

lhague I hope I answered all the questions.. And thank you ..

Any advice???

SJP - You followed all my steps, and now you are up to the final step - hosting, the easiest!

Find a host! How to ftp your site? It is easy. You need ftp software. (or the host may have an upload feature in the control panel)

Check CNET for ftp software ratings and freebies. Its the easiest step!

Re FTP

1. I use FTPexplorer
2. http://ftpx.com/

3. The free host you are with should have at some stage sent
you an email with the hosting details you need to type into
the relevant FTPexplorer fields. If you dont know this contact
their support to give you hosting details for FTP again.

4. Once you have all the hosting detail in FTPexplorer it is very
simple.......

- Once dialled into the internet using your normal ISP you
Simply Open FTPexplorer

- Select the website you need to connect to, it will be listed
in the right hand side frame

- Once selected simply hit connect button

- If you go to http://ftpx.com/screenshot.html you
will see then what each step looks like.......

Hope this helps

:)

Thank you for the link.

I have downloaded that program.. I have it opened now, WOW>.

Where do I go... I have to do all this to get my web shown on the internet..

Doberry.. Thank you also.. I got The free web template and I have added my html and words, Just enough to test it.

I have my name at enom, However I got the free host at Netfirms.com... I pointed my name server at enom to netfirms.. Now if you go there, you will see a fake page.. Or a netfirms welcome page..

I have the files saved on my desktop. What files do I upload and How do I upload them to netfirms.... If there is a better free host for now, I will use that.. I want to stay free unitl I learn it...

Thank you all for the help,, I am really learning here.. Thanks

You have to get your domain name hosted. They will give you an ftp password.

After that, its easy. It the "reverse" of downloading. Upload the files exactly the way they are in the computer. Think of it as moving to another computer.

After it resolves, you are done!

Not hard at all.

If your domain has resolved, you will see it instantly. If its not up, something is wrong.

Check out FrontPage 2002. It's a snap to learn, ready to publish, ftp blah blah the complete works.

You will have to maintain/edit your site anyway, so might as well get the proper tools.

btw, did someone do your site for you at edomainbuyers.com?

Now you have installed FTPexplorer...Here's the set-up steps

1. Open it .........

2. See a print screen image with the detail you need
to put in from your information NetFirms gave you above

Go here to see the print screen http://links-shop.com/sjp.jpg

3. Once you have typed in this info as you see in image just
click the ADD button in FTPexplorer, this will add your NetFirms
FTP profile to the left hand listing as you see in the print
screen

4. So next time you want to connect to upload you just open
FTPexplorer, select NetFirms from the listing, then Hit Connect
button.

5. Once connected just drag and drop your web files from
windows explorer to NetFirms........

:)

Please look at my site so far.

http://edomainbuyers.netfirms.com

That is where I am working on my site.
I figured out how to do the upload and html.. But you will notice one thing missing. The graphics or designs..

How do I upload that.. I extracted it all from my zip file and placed it in its out seperate file.. When i go to ftp program, I click on file, Go to upload.. In side the dialog box, I open my folder.. All my graphics are there.. I Push ctrl and Hightlight all the files, I then click upload.. All the boxes now appear in my ftp program, However they are not showing on my site..
How do I get them to show up on my site?
Did I confuse you?

Please help
