What the heck is going on with Register.com's database ?
I checked several names and they came up in the WHOIS with 1995 expiration dates, which of course would be impossible.

They are certainly having problems with their systems.

They have also been trying to convert other registrar's resellers with some very attractive deals. The last thing we need however is to move to a new registrar who can't keep their systems straight

Curious thing is it expired on teh same day as it was registered. Even being expired for 7 years, it still resolves. . . Wierd.

The whois database at register.com is just broken. They don't seem to care, and the data that they provide in the whois obviously does not match the actual dates, and in many cases the registrant information.

It's been reported to ICANN for months now and still, they are in violation of their accreditation agreement - where they must provide this information in a public whois interface...
