Well it definately looks like a brilliant year ahead for ccTLD sales. Last year DNJournal reported 698 sales of $1,000 or more, already this year DNJournal has reported a total of 265 sales of $1,000 or more (results).

Although of course not in anyway scientific a straight line extrapolation of the latest figures would result in reported ccTLD sales this year of 1,415, that is more than double that of such sales last year.

It should be remembered that reported sales only form a small percentage of actual sales no matter what the extension. However, these results are such a leap that it is proof that belies the often held assertion by some domainers that there is no value in ccTLD's. The results also demonstrate the strength of .de, .co.uk, .us, and surprisingly to me personally the .eu suffix, but also demonstrated is the plethora of other smaller ccTLD's that are now making an impact on the aftermarket.
