If you're selling Gmail invites, yes.

Gmail invites are not Gmail accounts - though Google prefer no accounts change hands they do not object to the transfer of invites.

"The policy alterations do not target people trying to barter Gmail invitations, which allow people to sign up for a new membership."

Webname, you are wrong. The statement above refers to Google permitting bartering - not to any lack of objection towards selling invites. There are several websites around that allow people to barter e.g. exchange services for invites - they sprouted as soon as Google banned the selling of invites. An invite equals to an account.

"For example, an eBay auction for Gmail account names "[email protected]" or "[email protected]"--for the respective campaigns of the top Republican and Democratic presidential candidates--could violate the rule."

Another article appears here:-

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/3859501.stm

"Despite the policy change Google still seems happy for invitations for accounts to be swapped and traded. "

It is NOT invites that they are trying to stop being distributed it is accounts.
