Valuate.com is a total disaster -- the site needs to be shut down.

Now, it "values" 3DTV.com at $3,800.

Valuate.com and Estibot.com have the same value for 3DTV.COM - $3800.

Do they use the same algorithm? I have noticed other such similarities in the past with other names I have checked.

Appraisals are opinions. They can be a basis for negotiation. Read in appraising companies the part where they explicitly explain that their results can differ considerably from effective sale prices. Appraisals are not good, not bad, but just opinions based upon inhouse ideas about value. Each house has own values. Estibot etc. are not bad. But don't take opinions too serious. After all, it is the seller who decides.

3DComputer.net is a very good domain and will climb in value over the next year or 2. It is a very nice HOLD domain and you'll get an excellent ROI - there's no doubt about that.

May I ask your opinion(s) on the term "3DTVs" under the top level domains (.COM, .NET. ORG. INFO). Even if it's not the singular form, is it a good term to own?

I think if you can get 3DTVs in one of the major extensions, it would be worth something for sure, and some of the majot cctld's as well

Thanks for your opinion on the domain

I think it would be better in the plural but this is not bad reg. This also goes very well with the .net extension.

Very nice pull.

It is better in the plural. As 3D TV's become more common then that is the term that I feel will be preferred.

Keywords, keywords, that makes SERP, and that counts for 3D too.
It takes just 1 good deal to make the difference and win back whatever lost.
As in any trade field, domaining is gambling upon wishful thinking.
I think, not a real lottery, but somehow comparable to football or race sports: Somewhat predictable, but ...
Business is based upon demand and supply.
Supply without demand=Sitting Stock/Reserve that may require servicing etc.
Demand without supply=No business.
No money=No purchase.
No portfolio=No business.
If something makes sense to one, it could make sense to somebody else, sooner or later.
It just takes somebody who wants what You have, and willing to pay Your price.
So simple is it.
That is why most domainers are no billionaires yet.
Yah, I know, ... not now but later.
3Dvj.com - 3Dveejay.com - 3DVjay.com - HoloGraphicTheater.com etc.
:)

I have three 3d sports names - 3dsportsbroadcast(dot)com, the plural version and 3dsportscoach(dot)com. But yesterday's Observer (UK) had the following interesting article that makes me think. I'm not much of a techie - anyone else got an opinion on what he says?

Tunnel vision by the author: 3D is by far more useful in other applications than the movies industry. Comes the time when 2D is found only on security cameras, digital measuring tools, GPS and mobile phone screens.
Business takes vision, too.

It may be a little unrelated, but I have been awarded 4DTV.net at auction. Could have some value in 5-10 years. There are some 4D Cinemas around the world.

Was reading about 3d over at Amazon and picked these 2 up:

3dhomeaudio.com - one of the categories they had over there

3dhelpguide.com - I like this one. They had a couple of 3d guides over at Amazon, a buying guide and a help guide. I liked 3dbuyingguide better but it wasn't available. I can envision a 3d help guide site since most people are very confused about it, lots of good content and then also have a sales section.

Thoughts?

nice grab on 3dhomeaudio.com! I totally dropped the ball on the audio side of 3d. I nabbed 3dreceivers.net. Would have really liked the .com obviously but was late to 3d accessories/audio scene.

Personally I think a lot of people are going a bit 3d crazy and see what looks like a hell of a lot of wasted reg fees in this thread!
