Computers (including Laptops), Phones and Cameras (you forgot that one), including Camcorders will be bigger than 3DTV - in my humble opinion. I was a latecomer so have picked up the scraps. 3DLaptops3D, 3DCameras3D, 3DComputers3D, 3DPhones3D, 3DCell3D, and a few other variants but do have Cell3D.

I would like opinions on what people think of the "bookends", i.e. 3Dname3D ??? If not able to get 3Dname or name3D, I kinda figure the next best thing is the bookends?? Any thoughts out there chaps and chapesses?

I have the bookend - 3DLaptop3D - wanna add it to your mantlepiece ?

Want me to be brutally honest.. hope its not too late but this would have been my model.

Forget the new regs, save $XXX-$XXXX and buy the best one you can, thats right, dont diversify lol

It may not be a top 10 but it will have a real shot at resale where as the bookends, uugghhh, sorry bro just being honest.

When I started my first $800 was in new regs, lost every dime.

NO shame, we have to learn some how, now you need to crack open those books and see why a bookend isnt a good choice. May I suggest dnforum, dnjournal, dnsaleprice, elliotsblog.com etc.

It seems that 3D will have the same effect on the games industry as the introduction of high definition TV a while back, had on the games industry, when it adopted the new format.
According to the games maker Ubisoft, within two years around 50 per cent of all console games releases will be in 3D.

The games maker from France believes that even as early as next year up to twenty per cent of games will be made in the 3D format.
This revolution will not be confined to the home as hand held portable devices will also be experiencing the 3D effect.

Gaming will lead the 3D charge I think

My new reg

Hello everyone, glad I found this thread!

I have had some success with the .in extension, so registered some 3D names some time ago.

3Dgaming.in
3Dphone.in
3Dphones.in
3Dcellphones.in
3Dmobilephones.in
3Dvideogames.in
3Dhometheatre.in
3Danime.in
3Dhomes.in
3Dweb.in
3Dsoccer.in
3Dfootball.in
3Dhdtv.in
India3D.in

A few others:

3Dforex.co.uk
3Dforextrading.com
3Dgames.cc

I have been surprised at the amount of traffic to these domains. Even though they are parked (mostly at Smartname), traffic has been fairly steady. I even received an offer for 3Dforextrading.com (which I declined) through an inquiry link. I don't know where this market is headed but the search traffic is better than many other .coms I have owned for years. This usually bodes well.

I already see 3D peaking. Consumers are starting to tire of 3D. The televisions are selling much slower than expected and I GUARANTEE that within 2 years that 50% of video games will not be sold in 3D. There are some very good applications for 3D but it will be an extra treat for consumers, not an every day event. I think most 3D domain investors will be disappointed with their returns. Then again, as long as another domainer thinks it has value you may do just fine.

Yep. Very close. This is the final warning - there is NO SELLING IN DISCUSSION FORUMS.

If you want to sell your domains, post them in the respective sales forums in the platinum and exclusive sections.

Keep this to a discussion based on 3D domains and related. No selling, no promoting, no appraisal requests, etc.

Points will be issued from now on and if it is abused, this thread will be closed.

If you see someone selling domains here, please use the report button.

BGUM...

There are some very good applications for 3D but it will be an extra treat for consumers, not an every day event. I think most 3D domain investors will be disappointed with their returns. Then again, as long as another domainer thinks it has value you may do just fine.

1. 3 Major Movie Studios have announced they will only make movies in 3D

2. At least 2 Major network TV Company's and 2 Major Cable company's... have announced Plans to build huge 3d Platforms for 3D content

3. It has been announced that within 2 years...NO MORE 3D GLASSES to wear... to see the same 3D effect

4. TVs will get better and better almost every month...

I could list about 6 -12 more things...but I think I have made my point(s)

So...

If you think this 3D is "going away" or is going to add up to nothing much...

Major company's and People are already "betting' Billions of $$$... that your not quite right in your assessment of the 3D industry going forward.

IMHO...

I would do a "Double Think"

__

Peace!
Dan

BTW: "Disclaimer'.... I have never seen anything in "3D"...LOL ( But I do own a few 3D domain names)

Hi draggar,

Would it be possible to now put up a "3D sales forum only"....seems like a good iidea

Its not like Dnforum does not have the time or space....

I think most members would enjoy it very much.

Peace!
Dan

Some interesting recent links from guardian.co.uk:

http://paidcontent.co.uk/article/419-forecast-internet-tvs-will-out-sell-3d-tvs-many-times-over/
http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/gamesblog/2010/jul/23/playstation-3d-move-impressions
http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/2010/jul/25/cinema-audiences-recovery-3d

I don't go to movies and hate the idea of having to wear special glasses anyway, but if they ever get 3D going for TV sports (without glasses), I think that would give an enhanced sense of actually participating, which is what sports' fans are really looking for - the thrill and glory without the effort.

I don't see why this is necessary. Why do 3D domains justify their own space?
Just post the domains for sale in the appropriate section.

Hi Brad...

This "thread" has reached 31 pages and counting....

Much more activity and interest in these type domains right now.... than most all domains in any 'sales forms' you want to pick on the board.

A specific spot to generate even more interest in these 3D domains...could only be good.

But your point is well taken....

I would not mine having few on other specific subjects...and there is not..."I get It"

But,

3D domains are going to be the most interesting and fascinating domain's on this forum for the next 1- 3 years. IMHO

My only point.

Peace!

Dan

I think what people are missing and not talking about much are 3d computers and monitors.
Once this gets further along the web will change direction. Companies and developers will build 3d content for the web and attract buyers and customers to their sites. This is the key for these domains to take off. It is not just the TV's and movies.
The issue is there have been people to buy 3d domains and think they will quick flip them in a few months and make a killing. This industry is still speculative but has great potential. Holding on to your names is the answer with this niche.
3D has a nice future but people that have invested need to be patient. Another point to make is, this industry hinges on the glasses free 3d which is a few years away. But when that hits, I do feel this industry will take off because that is the only burden I see with 3D right now.
