Just registered gallon.us

and honestly, I was surprised it was unregged. Taken in all other major TLDs, and apart from .com I think this is the most appropriate TLD for the name.

Any opinions?

I considered this one several weeks ago but a strong commercial use didn't jump to mind so I passed on it. Gallons.us is also available as is Quart.us and Quarts.us. Since the U.S. is one of the few countries not on the metric system, those measures work well with the extension. I obviously didn't value it highly or I would have registered it at the time - but if you can think of a good commercial tie-in for it could be worthwhile.

Wow, you're right RJ....and with that great Civil War art, Gallon should have the .us too - it's the perfect extension for what he is doing, even is he just used it as a redirect.

Bid has a decent idea there too that I never thought about with the Gas credit cards. Looks like I should have taken it after all!

Yep, build the site content around FUEL prices nationally, and sell those www.gasupamerica.com fuel disount cards (or something like it) there are a lot of fuel discount card programs too choose from)
