but just curious, why you use quotes when you use search engines?

You use quotes if you want to see the results with your term in the EXACT order of the words.

If you don't use quotes, they give you results with those words in any order, which is less meaningful. Try some examples of two word searches in google with and without quotes and you'll see what I mean.
