Question: Please answer my questions without the canned response. How do I know there are more bidders than just me, and I'm not just bidding against myself and revealing to you what top price I'm willing to pay in the
next round? What transparency exists to protect the customer from
shill bidding on the part of another or Pool itself?
From what I see on the posts of other bidders lately is that all names
go to round 2 even if there is obviously only 1 bidder.
Answer: "Thank you for contacting Pool.com, we are pleased to assist you with your inquiry.
All domains acquired by Pool.com go through our two-phased auction process. Our system does not differentiate between one and multiple backorders for a domain.
The first round of this auction system is SEALED to protect our clients privacy, no information regarding bids or bidders is given out. Only in the second phase will you be able to see other bidders (but only as they place bids). In the Sealed Phase, if you do not enter a bid, one for $60 is automatically placed on your behalf. If you then choose to enter a higher bid, you are NOT "bidding against yourself" you are simply indicating that the domain is worth more than $60 to you. I am not sure what part of this system you find fraudulent, however please let me know if I can be of any further assistance.
Pool.com's Two Phased Auction system is designed to maximize our client's privacy. During the first phase ( the "sealed phase") enter the amount you are willing to pay for the domain, if your bid is one of the top bidders then you advance to phase two (the "challenger phase"). In this phase only, you are able to see other bidders (only as they place bids however)."
