As Petrosc states people are answering the question asked in the poll, the poll is just so very badly worded it is next to useless - the only beneficiaries of the poll are SnapNames/Oversee who will translate it, erroniously, as showing that the majority (over 50%) have faith in SnapNames - something I think is demonstrably untrue.

The downfall of SnapNames though is either through incompetance on a massive scale or corruption or a mixture of the two - we shall have to await the outcome of court hearings and all the evidence that they divulge to decide which is correct.

Well, I voted yes because there may be names I need from them that they snag....I have never trusted any registrar and Moniker is as about as good or bad as any other...I have a few names there and I don't think I am moving them at this point.

IMO the top people at Moniker and all associated Oversee companies were well aware of this situation for some time...they are smart people just like many people on this forum who knew about the shill bidding years ago. We spoke up and were told lies...Oversee and related companies who were all profiting did not speak up until now.

The real question in my mind is who made them spill this scandal.

The truth is the people who don't want to use Snapnames most likely just voted no in this poll regardless of the manipulation of the actual question.

tight, and many of the no votes will continue to use Moniker (myself included) so the poll is slanted and of very little value due to the way it was worded.

I did not answer the poll because I feel that the answers are too restrictive. For me the answer highly depends on the outcome of the investigations and the way this case will be managed by Oversee. No matter what happened in the past, transparency is very important in the future.

I think this will turn out a lot like the UltimateBet and AbsolutePoker cheating scandals, where it was discovered the owners could see people's hole cards and were cheating in the games, stealing hundreds of millions from players.

After the news broke, the majority of the good players left the site. Most of the fish stayed though, because they never heard the news, and the few pro's who stuck around were (and still are) raking in the money due to much less competition from good players.

So to apply that to this situation, I think lots of people are going to leave SnapNames but the people who stick around are probably going to clean up and get some great deals for some time to come.

not crazy at all. I voted Yes, because I do not believe that Moniker had something to do with it and I will continue to do business with them. There would have been different results if the poll was asking specifically about SnapNames
That is how I see it. The snap issue was going on prior to the purchase of Moniker.

Is Kjel still with Snapnames?

good question, I have seen him lurking here on the thread and not responding to the comments made about his responses to several customers.

Could I ask either Adam, admins, or mods to please examine the 'poll' voting. It is becoming stranger as time goes on and therefore I would just like reassurance that it is not being 'fixed', I do not mean by the team or Adam, but by perhaps some new members voting in the poll in a disproportionate manner. It just seems 'unlikely' that so many voters occur without comment and that the gap is constantly between 4-6, with voting difference of 51.75% in favour with a narrow +/- 1.5% on this figure.

It is unfortunate that the poll was not set up so that people could see who and how people voted, but that is perhaps a lesson for the future.

I can't see how people voted (I can only see numbers and as of this post - 64 / 52.46% yes, 58 / 47.54% no) but:

1) In the beginning you can easily bet there was a large number of "knee jerk" voting for no and as time went on the knee-jerk reaction went away as people really thought about it and how the question as worded.

2) With only 100 (well, a little over) people voting, each vote is about 1%. If two people voted yes, that would ass about 1.5%-2% towards yes. With a small number of people voting each vote does have an impact and when a couple of people vote in one way, it can make it very noticeable.

I voted yes to continue using moniker and most likely I will continue to use snapnames if there are names that I like / want their, anyone who says no, I guarantee is searching through snapnames as we speak... But nonetheless... the people involved with this scam need to be dealt with appropriately...

I would hope so and if not, I can only imagine their reasoning for this (other parties involved, if not themselves, etc.) In my opinion, if they don't, just makes them look a lot more guilty.
