Are buydomains.com getting desperate, check their sales on ebay,it looks like its their first time advertising, thereare loads of domains on ebay for huge amounts, cannot see them making many sales if any !

I'll assume you aren't familiar with BuyDomains--they always charge a ton more than a domain is worth.

I also looked on eBay and did not see anything for sale by the user buydomains.

i recently contacted them about a domain, and checked my cell and see someone left me a message.. havent called back yet, but i know its in the 5,000+ range and only worth atleast 100 ,maybe a little over.

Of the 470,000 domains they sell, BD has some very good names but looks like 95% of the rest are very so so with minimal traffic.

What's a link to one of their names on ebay?

buydomains now has 500k+ names and one of the largest search engines/portals around... why would they be selling on ebay? probably a scam.

Many of their domain names get very little traffic. Therefore the names can't even pay for themselves with advertising.
500K names times 6.95 reg fees per year is a lot of cash.

They may need raise money just to keep the names registered.

hehe, i wouldn't be worried about their finances.. i am sure they do just fine in that department.

and there is still no link to this ebay auctions.

kind of silly to post up a thread about something and no actual link..... ?

BuyDomains is just using Ebay as another cheap advertising medium to bring traffic to their site. Mann's momma didn't raise no idgit.

I agree with your assumption.

lol... i didn't know there were serious domain buyers browsing around ebay looking to spend a few hundred thou'

and do they really need anymore traffic? everybody and their momma already knows about buydomains and their inventory.

i'm still thinking this is a scam... has anybody contacted em? might be a good idea

The idea is to plug on a big $ name to get attention, whether the name is worth it or not. Doubt they expect to sell those big $ names thru that venue.

When you're talking about "everbody" are you referring to the very tiny number of us domainers? Guys working foreign currency arbitrage also think "everybody" must know what the exchange rates are too.

I would think BFD is trying to expand their reach into the mainstream by spending pennies. I think it's a good idea too.

right, and it's a brilliant idea. however i have a bad feeling about this ones.. just the way the auction/s are put together it looks suspicious.
