Have you ever been in a pair (or more) of auctions at the same time at Snap or ClubDrop where it was obvious that you were competing against one other person?
I am amazed at how stupid and greedy some people are. I was just in a pair of auctions at Snap on 2 similar .info domains. With 7 minutes to go, the other guy and I were each high on one domain at around $75. The bids were not quite equal, but close enough. I look at that situation and say: "Great, I will get one and I will lose one, so I wont bid higher".
Instead, the other guy starts bidding on the one that I am high on. That strikes me as stupid and greedy, unless the other guy is just plain rich and doesn't care. So, I retaliate by bidding way high on both domains, taking top position. So, this bozo starts chipping away at my bids and prolongs the auction, and he drives my prices up, benefiting Snap, but I made sure that he did not outbid me. Instead of getting one domain for $75, he ends up with nothing. Now, I hope he reads this post and thinks a bit about what he accomplished.
