CreditCards.com has been sold for $2.75 million in one of the biggest domain sales on record. That huge transaction heads the new weekly Domain Sales Report at DNJournal.com and is also getting coverage from the mainstream news outlets. Domain Name Journal is quoted extensively (and incorrectly in several places, but at least they spelled the name right!) in a new report at MSNBC .

This sale would be more than enough good news for any week, but there was a lot more good stuff beyond that! Loads of great sales in the past 7 days and for .US fans a real reason to party as well!. The new extension hits the mainstream Top Ten for the first time and nails down 5 of the 7 slots on our New TLD chart. Read all about through the link below:

I guess we are going on a roller coaster ride. And, we are just starting up the first
incline.

Once, again, Duke. Another great article.

I noticed the server went down for a few minutes - might have been overloaded - we really get hammered on Tuesday nights when that report comes out!

There are several misquotes in the MSNBC story. I mentioned that some casinos pay up to $10 per click and he applied that comment to Candy.com saying it got $10 per click! We went over a lot of stuff and I showed him a lot of websites while we talked so I'm sure it was hard for him to keep it all straight, especially since he was completely unfamiliar with what I was talking about! Still, you know what they say about publicity - just make sure you spell the name right! Unfortunately they didn't add the hotlink like USA Today did last week.

on another note...it appears the same people own credit-cards.com, creditcard.com, and credit-card.com. I would say they have cornered the domain market in this field ;0)

Thanks for the insights Ron. And congrats to Zou for having the foresight to part with party.us in an effort to boost the .us extension. Shrewd (needed) timing.

thanks i really didn' t want to sell but the buyers were convincing they own and run www.party.DE and when a DE picks a US over a info i basically would have done anything so long as the site goes up live and its not just a repointing of the name which it will be a seperate live site similar to the DE one,,,,,, on another note it shows just about any name can go with the extension which needed to be shown that US its not just for locations,,,,,,

i didn;t believe the creditcards sale until i read about it in dnjournal the official domain journal!!
