If there is any so-called "professional" domain appraisal, you are getting it right HERE in this thread, seriously and honestly.

Ok, Appraisal by peers, I value them very much and this may stick for most of us here at DN forum, but what about outsiders? I don't know if they gonna rely on a thread at DNF, they would take it in consideration probably. I'm not that long at DNF but sometimes I do see appraisal threads that raise my eyebrows.

That's why I launched the question not only to get an opinion from peers but also from outside services.

So if you have any suggestions as where to get professional appraisals please feel free to post them.

Thanks

Who are the "professionals" after all? The truth is: if you really want to know the value estimates of your domains, DNForum is probably the best place you can find on earth. Of course, if you just need some paper work done, then perhaps Sedo should *look* fine to industry outsiders. ;)

Hello Andrew, thank you for your appraisal.
I already had some offers in the $x,xxx range, but I believe it to be worth much more as a midterm investment. $(x)xx,xxx

I've read an article in newsweek oct 10th about the Hong Kong exchange probably getting approval from the Chinese govt which could allow it to set an economical standard for China in the future. The govt is going to allow International IPO's on the Hang Seng. Where the Shanghai Exchange is mainly populated by bulk goverment owned companies, only reachable to very large foreign investors, the Hong Kong Exchange will be able to open up for public and smaller traders/investors. In fact considering the exploding growth of china on the world market, this could boost Hong Kong Economics way up.

So I do believe very strongly that such a domain (and an .hk in general) could get massive value within the next 2 years.

HK PRESS: Macau Casino Operator Plans HK Share Offering
HONG KONG (Dow Jones)--A Macau casino operator controlled by gaming mogul Stanley Ho is seeking to list on the Hong Kong stock exchange, the Hong Kong Economic Journal reports.

Citing sources, the newspaper says that Sociedade de Jogos de Macau, SA, or SJM - which holds one of Macau's three gaming concessions to operate casinos in the city - has been reorganizing the company's businesses and has formed a holding company in preparation for its proposed listing.

SJM will need to secure approval from the Macau government before it can proceed with its listing, the report says. Any changes over 5% in the shareholding structure of a casino concession holder must receive regulatory approval.

The approval process is complicated and will take SJM "longer than usual" to list its shares, when compared with other Macau-related companies that listed in Hong Kong, the newspaper says.

SJM is a unit of conglomerate Sociedade De Turismo e Diversoes De Macau, the city's largest company by assets that is controlled by Stanley Ho. It operates 16 casinos in Macau.

Other shareholders include Hong Kong-listed Shun Tak Holdings Ltd. (0242.HK), which is also controlled by Ho's family, and Cheng Yu-tung, chairman of Hong Kong property developer New World Development Co. (0017.HK).

SJM was granted a license to operate casinos in Macau in 2002, after the city liberalized its gaming market. Previously, its parent company STDM had a monopoly in the gaming market for about 40 years.

The other licenses are held by two consortia led by Sheldon Adelson, owner of the Venetian in Las Vegas, and Steve Wynn, of U.S.-based Wynn Resorts.

Some news I picked up which I believe is very interesting concerning the long term evolution of this domain.

One place you can get a professional domain appraisal is Afternic .com
It is something you can show a potential buyer, it gives a low price and a high price range for a motivated buyer.

This is truly a premium name in a place where gambling is very popular. I've read that people in North America go to Vegas to gamble for fun, whereas when the Chinese go to casinos, it's like they're going to war against the casino, and it is a test of whether they have good fortune or not.

Macau is a tiny part of China, close enough to HongKong for a day trip by public boats (which are on a schedule), and Macau already does more annual gambling revenue than Las Vegas. That isn't a typo. Mega casino/resorts/conference centers are being built there right now, most by LasVegas casinos who see Macau as becoming the "Las vegas of Asia". There is something like 2 billion+ people within a 3 hour flight of Macau. These casinos are being set up on reclaimed land called the "Cotai strip", in a similar fashion as the "Las Vegas strip", and will start opening around late 2006/2007. Gambling is LEGAL in Macau. I could see Casino.hk as a site that advertises or promotes the legal gambling opportunities in Macau in some way. They are trying to make it a travel destination, and it has an international airport already. So tourists can either go directly to Macau, or if they are going to Hong Kong, then Macau is an easy day trip away. Good luck with your name!

I'd appraise at upper x,xxx to low xx,xxx right now, but will definitely increase over time.

Thanks for the comment. I had it appraised last week at afternic low-mid $xxx, xxx. We'll see what bidders will propose on sedo.com, but there it gets nice bids already after almost 4 weeks posted. It has a very high visitor rate and is marked one of the top listed casino names on sedo considering its only listed for such a short time.

Please let the appraisals coming. I'll be you all a beer if this one gets sold. :-P

Made it a free flash gaming site which is a good Traffic booster, but hope it doesnt diminish the domain name quality.
