I pre regged these last night. I'm having second thoughts. Are these worth the 70 dollar charge if they get them?

i made miststake its cd.cn

Those names are already registered.

.CN is China, and has been live for many years.

I hope you didn't pay a fee.

Well, in any event, why do you want a .cn?

I wouldn't waste $70 each....

The Chinese use chinese language characters...which is probably why these were available to pre-reg.

There are 100 plus satellite channels streaming out of China most of them have advertising that shows a .com.cn name all of which are in English, from espn.com.cn to eladies.com.cn . It is going to be an enormous market, it is already big! If you can get the .cn + com.cn on a reasonable name go for it.

Miss out at your peril. And no I don't own any, I would have though if my registrar had not f--- up.

I think cd.cn might do well. That is almost a universal term for the name.

Good luck!

All three are already registered in com.cn. Since Jan to Feb 28, China NIC allow preferential registration, those who own com.cn ,net.cn, org.cn (regged before Dec 15) with the same root name will be given an email with access number to reg cn first. The one with the earliest reg will take the cn. Results of whois will not be updated until March. If no takers, it will be available to general public. Good luck!

well they still have me in pre reg they told me i can back out any time if i wanted.

That's a good one. Hope the guy who reg cigarettes.net.cn on Oct 2002 did not take up the priority registration offer for cn. Cigarettes.cn will be a killer.

China is a massive market and evolving fast in internet terms. Whatever really good domains you can get in .cn will be a wonderful investment for the future, but they have to be GOOD. cd.cn would probably need to be dvd.cn by the time this evolution comes about, but again, it's a good 2-letter but I doubt you'll ever actually get your hands on it for reasons others have stated above...
