CedarShakeSiding.com - end user (retail) & wholesale valuation, please. Thank you!

Your appraisal ideas & suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I actually have extensive knowledge of this industry and am considered an expert in the field of siding both on & offline. If it would help with the appraisal of this domain I can provide all sorts of industry specific data. I'm brand new here so I didn't want to post a bunch of valuable statistics (end user stuff) if it isn't needed / not welcomed here. I've been a leader in the siding market online since 2001. I registered this domain back in 2002 with an intent to develop but haven't done so as of yet.

Thank you very much!

I don't think it's an exceptional domain but it should be worth at least xxx. Good luck.

Thanks for your input Beards.net

Might you have any data to support a valuation of $xxx or is that idea from a feeling you have from experience dominating? Again I'm new to domain valuation but I'm getting the notion that it's more of an art than a science. Thanks again Breards.net!

If you have had offers over the last 10 years for it, then you should have a good idea of value. If you haven't, that will also give you some good information. This is a very specific long-tail product domain, not usually the kind of name a business is built around since those businesses usually are broader than this term is, but more of an add-on for additional web exposure or to highlight a product line. Most local siding folks probably wouldn't have any interest. You'd have to pitch it to the manufacturing side of the house and most of those folks just aren't that into the web/search stuff. As you know, they market through trade shows, promos with retailers, and field sales.

Low to mid XXX is what I would be targeting, but it is tough to move a domain like this.

Thank you INFORG!

I definitely hear what you are saying and can see your points. So you would like CedarSiding.org, SidingColors.com, SidingCost.com or SidingCompanies.com better then? Less specific / more general? Or do you feel those domains carry the same issues as CedarShakeSiding.com (being harder to sell).

... also, it was mentioned if I've never received an offer / inquiry, and the answer is yes I have. I was offered $xxx, xxx for my whole network by one of the 'big guys' in the lead industry but I turned it down because with just a few of my domains I made websites and I pulled that amount within a year after the offer. That's with 99% of my network being undeveloped (just domains).
I've also sold a two word .org in the $xx,xxx range just over a year ago. They contacted me, offered me low $x,xxx and I bumped it up and closed at $xx,xxx. It was a two word domain with 3,600 exacts at a super low $0.09 CPC but I had #1 ranking on Google, Bing & Yahoo for that term and several others. So I know what these domains can do with often times minimal effort BUT it can be a crap shoot on which one can/will pay off and how much effort it may take.

I really like the input people are giving... thank you so much. The domain / website valuation model just seems to be so "all over the place" I'm trying to gain as much knowledge as I can in hopes of finding some commonalities.

More Opinions Please... let's discuss this. I think domain valuation could really use some attention and it's great getting it all out on the table. There are definitely commonalities I'm seeing already from your comments. THANK YOU!!!
